Our Story

The journey to becoming a therapist doesn’t end at graduation. In many ways, that’s where the real learning begins.

The Unseasoned Therapist™ (TUT) was created to bridge the gap between what we learn in the classroom and what we experience in the therapy room. From navigating your first sessions to building clinical confidence, we understand that becoming a therapist comes with questions, challenges, and plenty of learning along the way.

We believe therapists deserve a space where they can continue learning, ask questions without judgment, build practical skills, and connect with others who understand the journey. That’s why we bring together educational resources, workshops, trainings, and community opportunities designed to support therapists at every stage of their professional growth.

Our Mission

To empower the next generation of mental health professionals through practical education, meaningful community, and lifelong learning.

Core Values

Rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth, we empower therapists to build confidence through knowledge, embrace progress over perfection, and strive for clinical excellence together.

CURIOSITY

CURIOSITY

Questions are welcomed here. We encourage therapists to stay curious, challenge assumptions, seek consultation, and explore new perspectives. Curiosity leads to deeper understanding, stronger clinical judgment, and better outcomes for the people we serve.

CONFIDENCE

CONFIDENCE

Confidence isn't built by pretending to know everything, it's built through preparation, practice, and experience. Our goal is to equip therapists with the knowledge, tools, and support they need so confidence develops naturally as their competence grows.

CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

Providing ethical, effective care begins with a strong clinical foundation. We are committed to promoting evidence-informed practices, critical thinking, cultural humility, & intentional decision-making.

Rather than comparing ourselves to one another, we choose collaboration, encouragement, and mutual support. TUT is a place where therapists can ask questions without fear of judgment, celebrate one another's successes, and grow together.

Mistakes, questions, and moments of uncertainty aren't signs of failure; they're opportunities for growth. We encourage progress over perfection and celebrate every step in the journey toward becoming a more confident clinician.

Hi, I’m Ayesha

Therapist, educator, lifelong learner, & the Director of Clinical Education here at The Unseasoned Therapist™

Over the years, I’ve learned that becoming a confident therapist isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about continuing to learn, asking questions, being willing to make mistakes, and having people around you who can support and normalize your experience.

That’s what I want The Unseasoned Therapist™ to be.

A space where therapists can learn the practical stuff, have the conversations we don’t always get to have in school, build their clinical confidence, and grow without feeling like they have to have it all figured out.

Here, we talk about the things that happen after the textbook closes, the awkward first sessions, the notes you stare at for 20 minutes, the interventions you’re not quite sure how to use, the moments when you leave a session wondering if you actually helped, and all the little things that eventually become second nature.

So whether you’re a student just getting started, a new therapist finding your footing, or a seasoned therapist who still occasionally thinks “Wait… what am I doing?” you belong here.

Because every seasoned therapist was once an unseasoned one.

Parthi B. Patel

CEO

After nearly a decade as a therapist, Parthi Patel now enjoys working behind the scenes to help build and grow The Unseasoned Therapist (TUT). As CEO, she focuses on the organization’s vision, strategy, partnerships, and creating new opportunities for therapists to learn, connect, and grow beyond the therapy room. While she’s happiest building TUT from the background, you may still catch her popping up at a TUT event from time to time!

Noah Ingram

CFO

Noah is the CFO of The Unseasoned Therapist and quite literally one of the reasons we’re able to operate. He keeps an eye on the numbers, asks the financially responsible questions, & helps make sure our big ideas can actually become sustainable ones. As you can imagine, being the CFO of a growing organization comes with a healthy amount of anxiety, so please support TUT, not only for our mission, but perhaps for Noah’s peace of mind, too.
